Due to inclement weather conditions and road closures, the following Township of Huron-Kinloss facilities are closed today:

Township Office – 21 Queen St., Ripley
Ripley-Huron Community Centre – 17 Queen St., Ripley
Huron Landfill – 2087 Concession Rd 6 E, Ripley

Significant Weather Event Declared - FEBRUARY 12, 2025, 3:00 PM Due to Snow Accumulation

FEBRUARY 18, 2025 3:00 PM - This Significant Weather Event is still active. Township concession roads and Lake Range Dr. have been cleared and are in good condition. Sideroads are drifting quickly and is expected to continue into tomorrow. Travel on any sideroads should be avoided if possible.

FEBRUARY 17, 2025, 4:00 PM - This Significant Weather Event is still active. Drifts are rapidly forming on Township roads due to persistent wind. All non-essential travel should be avoided until conditions improve. 

FEBRUARY 16, 2025, 2:00 PM - This Significant Weather Event is still active. Drifts are developing on Township roads, especially on the concessions, due to strong winds from the north. Drivers should expect the drifting to worsen tonight as the winds are forecasted to continue into tomorrow. 

FEBRUARY 15, 2025, 3:00 PM - This Significant Weather Event is still active. Township roads are in fair condition, but we are expecting a significant snow fall and strong winds that may cause road conditions to deteriorate tonight and into the morning. Drivers should travel with caution. 

FEBRUARY 14, 2025, 1:30 PM - This Significant Weather Event is still active. We are expecting minor drifting with some significant snow accumulation that may result in hazardous driving conditions.

FEBRUARY 13, 2025, 4:19 PM - This Significant Weather Event is still active. Use appropriate level of caution when travelling. Township staff are continuing to work diligently to ensure public safety

FEBRUARY 12, 2025, 3:00 PM - The Township of Huron-Kinloss has declared a Significant Weather Event due to snow accumulation in accordance with Ontario Regulation 366/18. This declaration is not a notice of a reduced level of service or road closure. It is to notify drivers and pedestrians to use an appropriate level of caution when travelling during this event. Township staff are continuing to work diligently to ensure public safety. Your patience is appreciated.
